As the program was launched for the first time, 147 online B2B meetings were held during the program with the participation of 30 Ukrainian publishers and 37 international ones from 24 countries of the world. The results of the B2B meetings were the following: the promotion of Ukrainian literature abroad, at least 23 agreements on selling the rights concluded; some books by Ukrainian authors already announced to be published abroad.
Thanks to the cooperation with the Department of Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, 23 embassies of Ukraine in other countries joined the announcement of the B2B meetings.
The Ukrainian Book Institute (Translate Ukraine), House of Europe (Translation Grants), Creative Europe (Support for Literary Translations), Ukrainian Cultural Foundation (New Opportunities for the literary sector) presented their opportunities for translation and promotion of Ukrainian literature abroad.
- Also, the educational component was held:
— 10 educational videos about Ukrainian books that are recommended for translation by experts were downloaded on the YouTube channel of the Mystetskyi Arsenal;
— 10 articles about international book markets were published on Chytomo website
The program was funded by the European Union’s EU4Business initiative, implemented by the EBRD.
