Maria Matios is a Ukrainian writer and a recipient of the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine. She is the author of more than 20 books of prose and poetry, translated into over 13 languages worldwide. Her boooks have been published in Poland, Austria, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Australia, Lithuania, and other countries. In her writing, she focuses on themes of historical memory, human destinies, and moral choice.
