Ariane Chemin is a senior reporter at Le Monde. After many years covering French politics and major news stories, she turned to long-form investigations and in-depth profiles of leading public figures, including Michel Houellebecq, Pope Francis, and Emmanuel Macron. Since 2022, she has made numerous reporting trips to Ukraine. She is also the author of several non-fiction books published, including The War Is Made of Proper Names (2026), dedicated to the Ukrainian writers Volodymyr Vakulenko and Victoria Amelina.
