Grzegorz Gauden

Grzegorz Gauden is the Polish lawyer and economist, and journalist by occupation. In 1970s, he was an active participant of students’ cultural initiatives and mass media. In 1980s, he participated in the Poznan-based Solidarity Union. On 13 December 1981, he was interned until July 1982. In 1984-1993, he was an émigré to Sweden, where he headed The Swedish Solidarity Support Committee. Upon his return to the motherland, Grzegorz Gauden worked with media groups, including Bulls Press and Orkla Media.

In 2000-2003, he was the president of the Polish Chamber of Press Publishers. From 2003, he was the vice president of the chamber. In 2003-2006, he was the president of Presspublika Publishing House, and in 2004-2006, he was the editor-in-chief of Rzeczpospolita newspaper. In 2007, Grzegorz Gauden was appointed as the advisor of the publisher and editor-in-chief of Gazeta 24 Ukrainian publication. In 2008-2016, Gauden was the director of the Polish Book Institute.
