Caroline Lamarche is the most successful contemporary Belgian writer, winner of many national and international awards. She was born in the Belgian city of Liege. Lamarche spent her childhood in the north of Spain and her youth in Paris. Having graduated from the Faculty of Romance Philology, she traveled to Africa. Caroline Lamarche taught French and English at schools in Nigeria. In the late 1970s, she returned to Belgium, where she was concerned with two things – family and literature. Lamarche is the author of numerous novels, collections of short stories and poems, as well as radio pieces.
Books in Ukrainian: Anetta Antonenko Publishers released her novel Le Jour du chien (2017) in Ukrainian, which at the time received the most significant literary award of Belgium – the Prix Victor-Rossel.
