Anatoliy Dnistrovy (real name – Anatoliy Astafyev)
Writer, artist, essayist, video blogger. Member of Ukrainian PEN. Born in 1974 in Ternopil, graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of Mykola Gogol University in Nizhyn (1997). He was engaged in teaching, worked as a researcher, speechwriter, analyst and director of public relations. In 2022, he voluntarily mobilized and serves as an officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Author of twenty-five books of prose, essays, poetry. Recent publications include poetry collections “Black Friday” (2022), “Days of Anxiety” (2023), novels “Grey Paine” (2023), “Ghosts” (2024), books of selected essays “Panopticon: Politics” (2024), “Panopticon: Literature” (2024), the 2022 war diary “Battle for Life” (2023), reprints of the novels “Boys” (2025, sixth reprint), “Drosophila over Kant’s Volume” (2025), “B-52” (2025).
Poetic, prose, essayistic works have been translated into English, German, Polish, Serbian, Czech, Slovak, Estonian, Belarusian, Bulgarian.
