Volodymyr Vernygora

Lieutenant Volodymyr (Vlad) Vernygora is an Officer of the 8th Artillery Brigade “Harmash”, 1st Corps “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine. Before joining the military in 2023, Vlad was an international project director, academic researcher, university tutor, and administrator. Lt. Vernygora is an alumnus of the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) and Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University (Ukraine). He is a DSocSc candidate in International Relations, ABD (University of Lapland, Finland).
In the past, he held positions (separately or simultaneously) of Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Senior Lecturer in Political Science and Philosophy, and Founding Director of Institute of Asia-Pacific and African Studies (Khazar University, Azerbaijan), Lecturer in International Relations (School of Business and Governance, Tallinn University of Technology/TalTech, Estonia), Visiting Professor in International Relations and Public Diplomacy (Centre for International Studies and Development, Jagiellonian University, Poland), and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Fiji in the Republic of Estonia.
