Viltse

Viltse is a Kyiv-based folk group. Its six members, who are researchers of traditional Ukrainian culture, sing folk songs from various regions of Ukraine without any arrangements, recreating them as closely as possible to how they sound in the villages. To get closer to the authentic sound, the group members study songs from recordings made by renowned Ukrainian ethnomusicologists and folklorists during expeditions, and they also travel to villages themselves to record songs and learn singing from rural singers.
