Mariia Tytarenko

A poet, an essay writer, a journalist, a media researcher. Founder of MA Program in Media and Communications at The Ukrainian Catholic University (2012). Kandydat Nauk in Social Communications. Fulbright Faculty Development Program Fellow (2008-2009). PEN Ukraine member. Associate Professor at UCU School of Journalism and Communications. Teaches courses on Communication Theory, Creative Writing, Storytelling, Essay and Reportage Writing, etc. She is the author of the essay collection “Communication from Zero: Essays for Mania” (Old Lion Publishing House / ВСЛ, 2019) and “Not Muses, but Muscles: 50 Creative Writing Exercises” (Laboratory, 2023), which won the “Personal Development” nomination at the KBU Awards (2025), as well as the children’s book “Aki-yaki-aka-ya” (Magura, 2025), awarded “Poetry Book of the Year” in the BaraBooka Top 2025.
