POEMS IN THE METRO

POLISH INSTITUTE IN KYIV

The exhibition project Poems in the Metro brings together 10 posters featuring Ukrainian translations of poetry by authors from Austria, Spain, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. These are short poems addressing themes relevant to democratic societies, including challenges related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. The selection also includes a poem by Ukrainian writer and volunteer Victoria Amelina, who was killed in a Russian missile strike on Kramatorsk. The project will be displayed in June at metro stations in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro.

The project was initiated by the Polish Institute in Kyiv in cooperation with the Ukrainian EUNIC cluster on the occasion of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Project design: Olena Staranchuk, PICTORIC Illustrators Club.
