Ilya Kaminsky was born in Odesa, Ukraine and lives in USA. He is the author of Dancing in Odesa and Deaf Republic as well as translator and editor of many other books. His writings have won Los Angeles Times Book Prize, Guggenheim Fellowship, National Jewish Book Ward, and he was the finalist for the National Book Award.
