The longlists for the 2024 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award include the International Book Arsenal Festival, as well as Ukrainian children’s writers Ivan Andrusiak, Halyna Vdovychenko, and Sashko Dermanskyi.
The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) is a Swedish award for achievements in literature for children and youth, one of the world’s largest awards in the field of children’s literature. The award was established by the Swedish government in 2002 and is awarded annually.
A total of 245 candidates from 68 countries have been nominated for the 2024 award — writers, illustrators, librarians, as well as storytellers and popularizers of reading. Check out the full list of nominees via the link.
