Héctor Abad Faciolince is a Colombian writer, journalist, and publisher. Abad is considered one of the major writers of Colombia and Latin America. The novel about memory, which brought its author international recognition, is called Oblivion: A Memoir (2005) and tells the story of his family in the context of tragic events that happened in Colombia in the 70s and 80s.
