YURI ANDRUKHOVYCH was born in 1960 in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. In 1985, he founded the literary performance group Bu-Ba-Bu (Burlesk – Balahan – Bufonada i. e. Burlesque-Bluster-Buffoonery). He has published six poetry books, seven novels and four books of essays.
