Yuliia Taranenko (pen name Yulita Ran) is a Ukrainian writer, playwright, translator, and volunteer. She is the author of over 30 solo books for children and teenagers, including Pes Patron and the Sock Monster (winner in the categories “Best Graphic Novel of the Year” by Barabuka and “Children’s Bestseller” by Chytomo) and The Mirror of Wishes (shortlisted for the BBC Book of the Year). She was born and lives in Kharkiv. By education, she is a theater director.
