Stanislav Aseyev

Ukrainian writer and journalist, born in Donetsk. Since 2015, he has worked in the occupied part of Donbas as a journalist for Radio Liberty. In May 2017, he was arrested by the occupation authorities in Donetsk, accused of espionage, to which journalistic activities were equated, subjected to torture and sentenced by a local court to 15 years in a penal colony with a ban on engaging in journalism. He was released from captivity at the end of December 2019, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war
