Born on June 25, 1940, in Kyiv. He underwent the first evacuation from 1941 to 1944, and spent almost three years in the second. In the interval between them – I lived, loved, was disappointed, almost cursed, forgave, admired, published books, rejoiced in recognition, summed up sorrow and joy, participated in public movements, waited for my great-granddaughter and a new war, grew up and, it seems, I am still growing up.
