Chornohuz graduated from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (master’s degree in philology), and worked as an English book translator. Since 2019, she has been a paramedic of the Hospitallers volunteer medical battalion. In 2020, she signed a contract with the Marines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Since then, she is a platoon combat medic and drone pilot in the 140th separate reconnaissance battalion of the Marines. Yaryna was awarded with the medals “For saving life” and “For military service to Ukraine”. The author of two poetry collections.
