Full program of Book Arsenal events at the 23rd International Vilnius Book Fair:
  • February 23, Thursday:

12:00, Children stage Teatime with Hippo. Theatrical reading with Kateryna Mikhalitsyna. Participants: Kateryna Mikhalitsyna, Yuliia Kozlovets.

  • February 24, Friday:

13:00, hall 5.3 — Poster as a Weapon: a discussion on creative illustration practices in times of war. Participants: Oleg Gryshchenko and Olena Staranchuk (Pictoric), Gabrielė Gudaitytė and Inga Navickaitė-Drąsutė (Hands on Press). Moderator: Kotryna Lingienė. A tour for visitors of the exhibition Illustrated Ukraine.

13:30-14:30, hall 4 — Rebuilding Rondo. A workshop for Ukrainian kids. A tour for visitors of the exhibition Agrafka picturebook makers. Participants: Romana Romanyshyn, Andriy Lesiv, art studio Agrafka.

15:00, hall 5.1 — Ukrainian film-performance STRICHKA. Author: Eugene Arlov. Project participants: Zarovna Daria, Bondar Yuliia, Lukashuk Mariia, Petrenko Tymofii, Kulyk Vitalii, Valetova Yuliia, Kolesnikova Anhelina, Parakhnevych Dmytro, Vdovichenko Oleksandr, Merabet Dariia, Shcherbakova Olena, Vizenkova Yulia, Eugene Arlov. Partner: Photinus Studio. The project is supported by the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House.

14:00, hall 5.3 — Power of the People United in Books. How Ukrainian and Lithuanian Authors Stay in Solidarity. Discussion. Participants: Kateryna Mikhalitsyna, Andriy Lyubka, Donatas Petrošius, Vytas Dekšnys, Marius Burokas. Moderator: Yuliia Kozlovets. Supported by PEN Ukraine.

15:00-16:30 — Portfolio review for Lithuanian illustrators by art studio Agrafka. Participants: Romana Romanyshyn, Andriy Lesiv.

16:00, hall 5.3 — One-Year Delayed Book Presentation: Nothing Can Stop a Ukrainian Author from Meeting His Lithuanian Audience. Participants: Andriy Lyubka, Rimvydas Valatka, Herkus Kunčius. Moderator: Alvydas Nikžentaitis.

  • February 23, Thursday:

10:00-11:30 — Creation of the book. Dive deep. A masterclass by art studio Agrafka (Romana Romanyshyn, Andriy Lesiv).

11:30-13:30 — Ukrainian Illustration. Experiencing the War. A masterclass by Olena Staranchuk and Oleg Gryshchenko (Pictoric Illustrators Club).

17:00, conference hall 5.3 — Citizens’ front. The role of civil society. Participants: Giedrius Sakalauskas (Res Publica – the Centre for Civil Resistance), Olegas Šurajevas (1K Aid Fund), Oleksandra Matviichuk, online (Centre for Civil Liberties, Ukraine). Moderator: Živilė Kropaitė-Basiulė.
